Dehumidification unit selection and rating

A dehumidifier keeps an environment comfortable - or suitable for the processes that occur within it - by extracting as much moisture as the environment gains. The first stage of the dehumidifier selection process is therefore an accurate determination of the rate of moisture gain in your design space.

The program is crammed with helpful tips that lead you through the stages involved in the design process. There is also plenty of advice for those who are unfamiliar with dehumidification calculations.

Once the moisture removal rates have been calculated, the software specifies the required number of SPC MD dehumidifier units. MD units come in three sizes with nominal moisture removal capacities of 100, 160, and 200 litres a day. All three units incorporate heat-pipe technology, probably making them the most efficient refrigerant dehumidifiers on the market.

Moisture removal from swimming pool areas is particularly difficult to calculate because of evaporation from the pool surface. This software includes a routine that incorporates swimming pool evaporation rates into the calculation process.
